With Mango Tree Travel, your trip to Europe with kids is totally within reach—and it doesn’t have to feel overwhelming to plan. Our slow travel approach makes it possible for families to truly connect and unwind, even in new destinations. Think fewer checklists, more meaningful moments: like making pasta together in Italy, riding horses in the English countryside, or picking olives on a Portuguese farm.

We’re taking our parent-friendly travel approach beyond the islands and into Europe, currently planning trips to Portugal, France, Switzerland, and the UK—with big plans for Greece, Spain, and the Austrian Alps.

We’re here to find those boutique hotels that are both stylish and welcoming of kids, and to empower you to take that next step toward a European adventure, with less stress and more confidence.

If you’re dreaming of Europe but need a nudge, follow along as we build our content. And if the destination you have in mind isn’t yet featured, reach out—we’re ready to help you plan a trip that’s all about connection, relaxation, and the joy of discovering the world together with your kids.

MT Memory of Europe With Kids

Our first trip to Europe with two small kids got off to a rocky start – as a stomach bug hit in the airplane boarding zone (no joke). But when my daughter recovered and turned her sights on the gorgeous breakfast at the Portuguese countryside estate we were calling home, we knew it was totally worth it.

Taking the kids on their first trip to Europe was not an overwhelming experience, because we slowed down and didn’t try to cram it all in. We booked a hotel with exceptional childcare in Lisbon so the kids could catch breaks, and we could catch some Michelin-starred meals. We balanced kid-friendly activities like the aquarium with wine tasting near an open field where the kids could stretch their legs. Once I had a taste of how manageable Europe with kids could be, I couldn’t wait to take you there.

Why choose Europe for your family?

Most parents dream of taking their kids to Europe at some point, so why wait? Europe is full of family-friendly experiences that are as enriching as they are fun. It’s easier than you think to travel with kids to Europe – there are incredible immersive hotels that offer top-notch childcare, kids’ programs, and experiences both parents and kids will love.

Europe is a fantastic place to introduce your kids to foreign languages, local cultures, and where their favorite foods really come from (pizza in Italy, anyone?).  Your trip doesn’t have to include long days in museum lines, walking thousands of steps around cities — for families, Europe shines with its countryside estates, coastal villages, and quiet pockets of charm—perfect for slowing down and finding connection.

Stay longer in fewer place. Savor small towns, historical landmarks, and relaxed local life. Let’s design a trip to Europe with kids that will help you all discover the world differently, while giving you all a chance to truly unwind.

Rave Reviews

Mango Tree Travel introduced us to a totally unique nature retreat high up in Italy’s Apennine Mountains. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and thoughtful, going above and beyond to make us feel at home. They guided us through unique experiences like cheese-making and wildlife tours, all right on the property. The food was phenomenal – the best we had an Italy. This adventurous, nature-centered retreat is one we’ll always remember, thanks to Mango Tree’s thoughtful recommendation.

We traveled to Portugal as a family of 6 and [picked a countryside estate] on Mango Tree’s recommendation. … We arrived on our second day in the country so jet-lag was hitting and it was so nice to have a place to feel at home. Thanks to Mango Tree, we had a welcome gift waiting for us and a private room booked for our first dinner – exactly what we needed with tired kids. The freedom of biking around the hotel grounds, the gorgeous pool (which my 14 year old said felt like a movie set), the nooks to explore, and the afternoon tea were all highlights!
