Why we like it for families

  • THE ROOMS. Recently named one of the best hotels in the Caribbean by Travel & Leisure magazine, we love that The Palms Turks & Caicos gives families space to spread out. The suites at The Palms are enormous, luxurious, and well-designed for families. They range in size from one- to three-bedrooms, with full living rooms and sofabeds, extra bathrooms, private terraces, and fully equipped kitchens.
  • THE SIZE AND AMENITIES. We love small hotels, but it’s hard to find small hotels that also have all the kid-focused amenities you could want. The Palms nails it. At only 72-rooms, you’ll get the boutique hotel feeling, but also the perks of a larger resort: A complimentary kids’ club for kids ages 4-12, an awesome pool with a shallow end fit for the littlest swimmers, babysitting available on 24 hours’ notice, cribs and high-chairs provided, beach toys and floats for entertainment. Plus, a fitness center, tennis courts, and a 25,000 square foot spa.
  • THE POOL. The Palms has the best pool we saw on Grace Bay Beach. It starts with a shallow end with a large, flat baja shelf for the kids to play, then wraps around the restaurant to become an infinity pool overlooking the beach. There are swim up tables in a set of nooks and crannies by the restaurant that kids will love to explore—and a swim up bar for parents.
  • THE LOCATION. The Palms sits on one of the best beaches in the world, 3-mile long Grace Bay Beach. If you want a family-friendly beach, you couldn’t ask for a better one.
  • NOTE: Some traveler reviews report that the rooms feel a little dated. We think the Grace Bay beachfront location, room size, and overall atmosphere of the property makes this a top choice nonetheless. But if a more modern and glittery luxury hotel is your priority, consider the Palms’ sister property, The Shore Club, on Long Bay Beach.

The Palms Turks and Caicos offers Mango Tree guests VIP amenities including: Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability; $100 resort credit; Early Check-In / Late Check-Out, subject to availability; Complimentary Wi-Fi. Let’s get you VIP’d!

  • The Palms is set off from the road by lush gardens which instill a sense of calm the minute you drive through the gates.
  • Behind the open air lobby you’ll find the Palms Courtyard Shops. In addition to an art gallery, gift shop, and upscale clothing boutique, the shops include a gourmet mini-market where you can quickly grab snacks, wine, and other food on the go.
  • The buildings at The Palms all have plenty of outdoor gathering spaces, and green pathways lined with flowers. It’s a great property for walking around and kids will love to explore.
  • The Palms has 4 restaurants, offering a variety of food. Breakfast is served outside in a pretty courtyard, starting at 7am, where kids don’t have to be restrained. Take your lunch at Plunge Bar next to the pool, on a sunken dining terrace. There are two options for dinner: Parallel23 is the popular al fresco fine-dining establishment, open for dinner every night, and offering steak and seafood on a wide terrace off the main dining room. 72 West has a more family-friendly, relaxed vibe, offering a Caribbean-inspired menu by the pool (and a kids’ menu too).
  • The Palms also offers a complimentary shuttle for guests to dine at their sister resorts, The Sands (which has kid-friendly Hemingway’s restaurant) and The Shore Club, a luxury escape on Long Bay Beach away from the crowds.
  • The suites are located in four buildings that surround the pool in a horseshoe shape, meaning none is too far from the activity. With kids, we highly recommend a ground floor room so you can walk right out to the pool.
  • At the beach, non-motorized water spots are offered free of charge, including Hobie Cat sailboats, kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkels. And, of course, there’s a beach bar to keep mom and dad happy.

Traveler Reviews

Beautiful facility on gorgeous beach. Great time with the family. Stayed on other side of the island last year and much preferred staying at the Palms this year. Convenient location to nearby restaurants and short bike (or cab) ride into town for shopping. Our butler Jeffrey made the trip extra special for us and the kids with his attentiveness and service, including surprising our little one with a cake for her birthday! Thank you Jeffrey for helping make our family vacation one of the best! We plan to go back!
