Rocksresort sits in Laax/Flims, one of Switzerland’s top ski areas, just 1 hour and 40 minutes from Zurich Airport (ZRH). It’s a smooth journey: take a train to Chur, then a 35-minute taxi or pre-arranged resort transfer straight to your apartment. Want to extend your adventure? From Chur, hop on the Glacier Express and head toward St. Moritz for a stunning add-on to your trip.Â
Once you arrive, everything is at your doorstep—the Laax gondola, ski school, gear rentals, grocery store, restaurants, and even a bakery are all within a few steps. No cars needed, no gear schlepping. In summer, hiking and biking trails begin right outside the resort, and the nearby town of Flims—just a 10-minute drive or bus ride—offers Lake Cauma, a crystal-clear alpine lake perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, or lakeside picnics. It’s an easy, efficient setup with all the charm of the Swiss Alps, and none of the logistical hassle.
Arriving at Rocksresort feels more like stepping into a cool alpine neighborhood than checking into a hotel. The resort is a cluster of sleek, cube-like buildings nestled at the base of the Laax slopes. It’s car-free and totally walkable, with a pedestrian village center that gives kids space to roam freely while you settle in.
Everything you need is right here. The gondola, ski school, rental shops, grocery store, and restaurants all orbit a central plaza that becomes a lively gathering spot in both winter and summer. The layout is incredibly efficient, making your stay feel less like a production and more like a fun, free-flowing mountain escape.
The apartment-style suites at Rocksresort are modern, minimalist and full of Swiss alpine charm. Warm, wood interiors, oversized windows, and smart layouts make them feel like a thoughtfully designed home – not a cooker-cutter hotel room.
Families will especially love the 2, 3, and 4-bedroom apartments, with fully-equipped kitchens and separate sleeping spaces. The resort has a separate building called Casa Mulania, just steps away, for more luxury family travelers – with the best mountain views and an all-inclusive option, the luxury touches are perfect for families that want a bit more ease and pampering. There’s a setup for every kind of family – whether you’re a crew of four or rolling in with grandparents, too.
There’s no shortage of dining options within the resort village. Ella is a favorite for its crowd-please pizzas and pasta, while Nooba serves incredible pan-Asian dishes that hit the mark even with picky eaters. For something more elevated, Mulania delivers a beautiful setting and refined cuisine – great for a date night.
If you prefer to eat in your PJs after a big day, head to the on-site Coop grocery store where you’ll find fresh produce, staples, Swiss specialties and even fondue kits! The fully-equipped kitchens in every apartment make cooking in easy. Grab-and-go breakfast options are also available, too, or stock up and DIY breakfast before heading out for your adventure.
We can’t wait for your kids to experience Ami Sabi Snow Wonderful, a beginner ski zone that turns ski school into a magical storybook experience – complete with a forest wizard and snowy adventures.
Beyond skiing, the lineup of kid activities is impressive – ice skating, tobogganing, snowshoe hiking, Freestyle Academy, rocksresort PARK for skateboarding, scootering, and biking, a playground, trampoline, sandbox, zipline, and so much more.
In the evening, you have access to complimentary evening childcare for ages 2-8 from 5PM – 9PM to enjoy a romantic evening out or a relaxing visit to the signinawellness spa, which offers everything from saunas to alpine-inspired massages. Family swim sessions are also available.
Don’t miss the extras that make this resort special: Torch-lit sledding nights in the winter let you try sledging under the stars and the Senda dil Dragun is the world’s longest treetop walk. You can even try archery at the Hubertus Archery Park.Â

Don’t waste your time searching for rates and availability. We can handle it (and love it!), at no additional cost to you.
Perfect hotel for ski season with the family (all ages)
We are in our eighth season at Rocks and we couldn’t be happier and more satisfied. Our room had a wonderful view and as our season coincided with the Laax Open we had the privilege of watching an incredible show! I recommend it for all families, from children to teenagers.Â
There is the option of reaching the mountain’s restaurants by gondola, as well as hiking through the forest. When my children were babies, I managed to have lunch on the mountain with the whole family together. Unforgettable moments.

Rocks resort and Laax. 5 star.
First ski holiday with my family. 3 kids 9, 7, and 5. They all loved the experience and the location and facilities of Rocks resort hotel made it this way. The staff were amazing. Very helpful and friendly. The apartment to the lockers to the gondola was all within 5 mins. Very easy to check in and check out. Plenty of ski gear to rent. The ski school was the best decision we made all week. We put the 3 kids in 9.45 to 3.15 and included lunch. This allowed us parents to enjoy our trip too and the kids thrived. I went up the mountain with them in last day and down the blues. The slopes were good too. I will definitely be back and will stay again in the rocks resort.
