Why we like it for families

  • The spacious rooms. The suites and family cottage at this hotel are stunning, with tons of space for families, and huge outdoor living areas with ocean views. Take one look at the photos, and you can imagine yourself relaxing on your deck with a glass of wine after the kids are comfortably tucked in bed.
  • The location. Most rooms at Le Village have an ocean view from the hotel’s perch on the hillside. You won’t find a whole suite of amenities at this hotel. Instead, stay here for the spacious room and the top-notch location: St. Jean Beach, which is great for kids, and St. Jean Village, home to many of St. Barts’ best restaurants and bars, are just a 5-minute walk down the hill (albeit a steep hill).
  • The value. Saint Barts is an expensive island, and many of the luxury hotels will give the average travelers sticker shock. These expansive suites are under $1000 even in high-season, making Le Village a good value choice in Saint Barts for a 4-star property.
  • The kitchens. It’s always great to have a kitchen when you’re traveling with kids, and with the outdoor dining areas, Le Village makes it appealing to enjoy some meals at home.
  • Family-Owned. The Charneau family has owned Le Village since it first opened in 1969 and make it a point to keep their guests coming back year after year.

Location and Activities

Hotel Le Village is less than 5 minutes away from St Barts’ Gustaf III Airport (SBH), on a hillside above St-Jean Beach.

The Saint Barts’ airport has one of the shortest runways in the world, and only small propellor planes are able to land here. You can take a propellor plane to Saint Barts from nearby Saint Martin, Puerto Rico, or Guadeloupe. Ferries also run between Saint Martin and Saint Barts, but they can get quite bumpy.

  • There’s no on-site restaurant but many are available walking distance. A continental breakfast is included, and room service for breakfast is an option too.

  • The hotel will provide beach umbrellas, chairs, and kids’ toys for free so you can head down to the beach and enjoy your day out in the sun! But, you’ll have to carry them back up the hill at the end of the day.

Traveler Reviews

Charming, friendly boutique hotel Stayed here during a recent visit to St. Barths’s. Had a lovely suite with a kitchenette and a patio overlooking the water. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms are well furnished and welcoming. The location is perfect. Just a short 5 minute walk to Saint-Jean Beach and several restaurants. 5 minutes from the airport. They serve a wonderful and generous complimentary continental breakfast with full breakfast items available for an extra charge. Lovely infinity pool. Can’t wait to return!

Took a shot and went to St. Barth’s. Not much open but just enough to keep us happy. Le village is a beautiful boutique hotel just up from the beach and Eden Rock. Had beautiful room down at bottom of hotel over looking ocean with nice deck to lounge on. Room was comfortable with king size bed and nice shower. Breakfast was included and more then enough. Catherine the owner and front desk staff were all great.
