Cheval Blanc is 5 minutes away from St Barts’ Gustaf III Airport (SBH). This airport has one of the shortest runways in the world, and only small propeller planes are able to land here. You can take a propeller plane to Saint Barts from nearby Saint Martin, Puerto Rico, or Guadeloupe. Ferries also run between Saint Martin and Saint Barts, but they can get quite bumpy.

This was our second trip here, now as a family of 4, and has been thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel has a stunning location on flamands beach, and is ideally orientated to its natural surroundings. The pools both overlook the ocean and one of the restaurants is actually set on the beach which makes for an extremely pleasant setting… The rooms themselves vary, we stayed in a garden suite, which was large and had its own pool. The garden rooms are very practical but if you are after something more spectacular and in-keeping with the rest of the hotel then the newer rooms are a material step up and so may be worth the additional cost.Overall we had an excellent and highly personalized stay – this was our third stay at a Cheval Blanc hotel and the company continues to excel in offering truly luxurious hotels in spectacular settings. We stayed here for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom suite for my family of 5. We rarely stay at a hotel more than once because as a family we like to experience new things. This place made us break our own rule. We stayed here for a 2nd year in a row. Last time was not a fluke. Sometimes the 2nd visit to a hotel doesn’t live up to our memories of the first visit. That was definitely not the case here. This year the hotel exceeded our previous expectations. This hotel is truly is a gem. I would highly recommend it. It’s the small things that they do that really make us wanting to come back over and over.
