Why we like it for families

The vibe. The S Hotel Jamaica offers families something totally different from the average Jamaican all-inclusive. This hotel is not for everyone: It has a mostly adult vibe, with a DJ by the pool and many kid-free travelers eager to enjoy Montego Bay’s nightlife. But the hip guests returning from the club at 7am will give your early-rising toddler a big smile, and the early evening vibe at the poolside restaurant is serene. S Hotel attracts laid-back and easy-going guests who also want a little luxury. Parents looking to feel a bit sexy will appreciate the diverse scene at the pool, and kids will love the gorgeous pool.
The people. The staff at S Hotel – and the eclectic group of guests – makes absolutely everyone feel welcome.
The location. S Hotel Jamaica has a prime location on the famed Doctor’s Cave Beach—the most visited beach in Montego Bay. The beach has crystal clear, calm waters for little ones, but also has two water trampolines that older kids will love. It also has plenty of shady areas and a beach bar.
The bathrooms. It may seem a little weird to highlight a hotel room’s bathrooms as a selling point. But the spacious bathrooms and free-standing tubs are a top feature for families. The modern, well-appointed rooms at S Hotel Jamaica are on the small side – and would be tight for a family of four. But for a family of three, the junior suites feel spacious due to an open layout, with the main room flowing into the large bathroom. A black-out shade can be pulled down to separate bathroom from bedroom at night, creating an ideal space for a travel crib.
The food. On of our big worries about all-inclusive resorts is whether the food will be up to snuff. The food at S Hotel Jamaica is excellent and authentic – definitely a step above the average all-inclusive.

S Hotel Jamaica will intrigue you before you walk through the door. Out front sits a replica of the 1953 Singer convertible Kathryn Hepburn drove when she flitted around Montego Bay – the first sign of the hotel’s connection to Montego Bay’s stylish history.
Enter the lobby and you’ll be drawn in by the stunning hardwood floors and well-placed art pieces. This lobby, which frames the infinity pool and the beach beyond. begs to be sat in. It provides a serene spot to relax when you need a break from the sun,
You’ll find hints of Jamaican heritage throughout the property, from the record players in the rooms to the coffee table books in the lobby to the sculptures in each hallway. S Hotel is anything but generic.
Just past the lobby sits the hotel’s two indoor restaurants. Rocksteady opens at 6pm for dinner by reservation. The Marketplace serves a buffet breakfast and dinner, which allows our little travelers to eat quickly – always a plus. The inside has a stylish décor, but the outdoor tables on the pool-deck encourage let you take in the firepits in the evening.
From 11am – 6pm, the Poolside Bar & Grill serves grilled Jamaican specialties, pizza, and cocktails.
Straight past the pool – the property’s centerpiece – is Doctor’s Cave Beach, where you’ll find another beach bar. The beach is public, but the hotel provides beach chairs and towels.
Head down to the basement when it’s time for an adult break to explore the subterranean Irie plunge pools and spa. You’ll also find the hotel’s fitness centre in the basement.
At sunset, though, head up – take in the sunset views from the Sky Deck, where kids can see airplanes coming into Montego Bay.

These rooms start at $500 (Oct. 2022/all-inclusive) and $600 (Feb. 2023/all-inclusive).

Just came back a couple days ago from the S Hotel in Montego Bay. All I can really say is wow. … The hotel is very modern…. the most modern I’ve seen in the Caribbean so far. Super clean, friendly staff, great food/drinks, great beach, live music in the evening. I loved it! Highly recommend ocean view rooms… view is stunning. The resort had a Miami vibe… if you like the Miami, feel you’ll love it here. This isn’t a typical all-inclusive in the sense there aren’t cheesy activities like the water aerobics etc during the day…It’s more upscale. They have a live DJ by the pool every day which is awesome…It had an adults only vibe… there were some kids, but definitely had more of that adult vibe. Loved the breakfast… delicious French toast, plantains, fresh omelettes etc. A bonus too is it’s only 10 minutes from the airport which is super convenient!

I was recommended by my nephew who works at the S Hotel. We had a party of 4, that included my husband and 2 kids. It was not an all inclusive hotel then, however when I checked in I was told that all meals were included in my stay and I didn’t have to pay extra, The S Hotel is the place to be. The location is perfect as you have access to the nearby shopping centers and not to mention the breathtaking white sand beach. The rooms are modern and are kept very clean. There are wide range different food from all over the world. However, the chefs prepare the best Jamaican dishes; oxtails, curry goat and jerk chicken, to name a few. All the staffs are very courteous and very professional. I look forward to be back there soon.
